Talked to some guys that worked the Kansas race and Nascar was looking closer at the fuel cans and also what teams were doing on pit road.
Cans are supposed to be filled to the middle of a sight glass which is on the vent tube and hold no more 12 gallons. Even last year noticed cans were taking 12.6 or more gallons before coming into the sight glass. Teams put a restrictor at the bottom of the vent tube so the vent tube fills slower and the main side overfills before it reaches the sight glass. One can took 13 gallons and it still wasn't in the sight glass.
Noticed the Gibbs teams and 23-11 teams last year would pump fuel from one can to overfill the other 3 and only have one can topped off.
Now after a pit stop teams are pumping from one partial full cans and overfill the 2nd partial filled cans on pit road. Nascar stopped the teams from doing that during the race.
