Yeah....tell ya what. Have always told my sis that I would come down and visit her in Florida the last 5 years or more that she has been down there but just have never gotten around to it . Now my brother has also moved to Florida and my Nephew is there also.
No excuses anymore..., work used to be one of them and now that I'm retired and I have this Motorhome, I am going to make it happen and am actually looking forward to it and plan on visiting both more often while we are all still alive. I was always the black sheep and outcast of the family and never really close to them, I'm hoping to change that.
I still feel a lot of guilt for the stress and hell I put my parents through too...I can't even imagine being a parent and having the cops call in the middle of the night to tell you your son needs to be bailed out of jail or is in hospital for a motorcycle crash.. gave them a lot of sleepless nights ......I finally straightened out a bit before they passed but wish I had done a lot more for them and spent more time with them and really told them how I felt while they were still here. They were terrific parents. Life really is short and those are some of my regrets as a boomer. Loved ones and family really are among the most important things in this life.
