I don’t think Cox understands the meme followers of the shooter’s generation. I certainly don’t. It’s a fucked up menagerie of weirdness. I spent an hour last night going down that rabbit hole. Jesus Christ. What a nightmare. There’s a lot to sift through. I got out ahead of myself with the groyper thing. There’s a major cross referencing going on from different groups and subgroups with these memes. Groups that aren’t extreme right wing have adopted some of the groyper memes. Sometimes as a fuck you. What I find interesting is that the shooter never wanted those shell casings or the rifle to be found. So why engrave them? Was he planning to taunt law enforcement with them. Like the zodiac killer did with letters? Were they trophies that he could show off to accomplices? Or just something he could “enjoy” by himself.
