    • Elon Musk won’t make any more Tesla electrics: the new ‘stupid’ fuel he’s going to try out by D. García    06/16/2024   in Mobility               Elon Musk has always been known for being an eccentric tycoon, an idea that we have given several twists and turns and that is increasingly talked about in America. We have just learned that he has said goodbye “forever” to Tesla electrics: this is the new fuel that he branded as “stupidity” and is now going to test… perhaps to overcome the very high competition from China and its BYD.   Goodbye to electric Tesla: Elon Musk wants to change everything unexpectedly Hydrogen is also opposed by many figures, including Elon Musk, the head of Tesla, the company that develops electric cars. In a TV interview, he said hydrogen was the “Dumb thing that I could imagine for energy storage.” Nonetheless, now Tesla would plan to move to hydrogen power in 2026. This change of tune is particularly notable given that Musk has gone as far as to label hydrogen fuel cells as ‘extremely silly. ‘It’s time to explain the specifics of Tesla’s new hydrogen-related project and its possible ramifications.   The above conclusion about hydrogen being inefficient for fuel can be explained by analyzing Musk’s statement, in which he claims that storing and using hydrogen is complicated. He has highlighted that storing hydrogen could be the future, but we’re not discussing FCEVs. How will Tesla “run” on hydrogen? Maybe it’s not what you’re thinking (or expecting)  Hydrogen in either liquid or gaseous form is stored in gigantic or more enormous tanks. Further, extracting hydrogen in large quantities through water electrolysis or cracking of hydrocarbons has an associated energy input.   However, even Musk has extraordinary doubts; Tesla has stated its intentions to shift to hydrogen power in 2026. The first car Tesla Motors with the fuel cell would be called Model H, describing a new project in terms of changing the strategy is crucial. The reason for Tesla Motors’ approach is non-traditional, as most cars constructed by this company are battery-powered electric vehicles. The finer points of this new hydrogen project are not fully clear at Tesla yet, but it is expected to power a fuel cell to generate electricity. This technology is specifically used to generate electricity by converting the chemical energy to hydrogen and other elements, where the only remnants in the process are light and water. For the consumer, the fuel cell is anticipated to deliver clean power, which shall play a role in attracting environmentally conscious customers. Tesla has the “perfect idea” for hydrogen: this is their secret project. Altogether, Tesla’s new hydrogen project involves various challenges, but multiple opportunities are essential to discuss. First, hydrogen fuel cells could offer a better solution to transport electric vehicles since they use cleaner means of power. In the process, it also has the possibility of cutting greenhouse gas emissions and improving the overall quality of air. However, the hydrogen fuel cell also has some disadvantages, which can be listed below. For instance, hydrogen production involves gigantic processes, which in turn require a lot of energy alone, which is a feat. Furthermore, the infrastructure that has been developed in regards to the refueling of hydrogen still needs to be well designed, which may limit the consumer access to the fuel. In America, the number of hydropower plants is a maximum of a few hundred, as we revealed several days ago in another article.  Do you understand why we discuss Elon Musk making an unexpected and radical turn? Just now that EVs are starting to take off in America, we have seen how the first hydrogen Tesla could arrive sooner than we think. We have yet to receive an official confirmation about prototypes or anything like that, so don’t fall for the fake news that other media are sharing.
