WTF GUYS? You said climate change was fake news and now they are having to move the Park Rapids 200 race to an alternate location due to warm weather and showers. How can this be? Itโs like the climate is warming and snow isnโt happening for Minnesota.
We have been working with the Heartland 200 race group over the past 10 months on plans for the 2026 race and, more recently, on current conditions.
The Heartland 200 terrain race requires us to work with local snowmobile clubs, over 150 landowners, the MN DNR for access to Paul Bunyan State Park trails, and other local organizations. As many of you know, we have been working through this permit process at multiple levels and want to thank Senators Utke and Green for their support and hard work in helping us get to where we are today for terrain racing in Minnesota. We do have options to move forward with some restrictions, but unfortunately, the showers and warm weather earlier this week in the Park Rapids area are forcing us once again to move from the historical Heartland 200 terrain race to plan B: an event on Fish Hook Lake.
We will follow the same race-day schedule as last week in Ottertail, and registration is NOW OPEN!
