I wouldn't say they made it as cheap as possible. I don't think the belt drive was done to be cheap, or the running boards or many other things. Did they nail the proverbial fine line of perfection between weight and durability? I'd say an overwhelming majority will never have any durability issues with the sled, so there's an argument there they did. It is a sled developed for the mountain applications afterall. What happens during ice racing isn't representive of consumers so that doesn't bother me, I don't know why it'd bother anyone but an ice racer. I'm sure cat will learn some of those failure points, that's just racing, nothing new or alarming. Scale weight is the lowest hanging fruit and really shouldn't matter to people. Mass centralization is much more important. Chassis balance is much more important. The catalyst is an awesome machine in my opinion.
