Average hourly wage is over triple FMW in the US.
I don't buy there is hardly anyone working for FMW except for possibly some service industry jobs who get tips. Hell most of those 81K are probably involved in an S-Corp that pay themselves minimum and simply take distributions. Sound familiar?
In 2023, approximately 81,000 workers in the United States earned exactly the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (.gov). Additionally, about 789,000 workers had wages below the federal minimum. This means that a total of 870,000 hourly workers earned at or below the federal minimum wage.
