I’m not sure I should be telling you this or not. But if your largest customer is suddenly being run by an incompetent, stupid, lying sack of shit that ignores the law and previous signed agreements, you have to convince them that they are winning.
Sure you could go head to head, act tough and both lose but that only works if he will personally lose money. In this case he’s busy making back room deals for himself and he doesn’t care about the health of his own economy. Unemployed truckers, dock workers, closed hospitals etc do not hurt Trump
So Carney just has to step lightly and try to work out a deal that isn’t too damaging to us while making Trump think he won. Meanwhile we are making deals with other countries because our old relationship with the USA is dead.
