Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is sharing his concerns about the โmedia moronsโ he claims are distorting the truth about American safety.
Bongino, who stepped down from his position earlier this month after serving in his role for less than a year, went on a tangent about the media while being interviewed by Fox News on Thursday, accusing the media of having a double standard when it comes to reporting on public safety.
The topic came up while discussing a recent report from Axios, claiming that according to the Council on Criminal Justice, the U.S. murder rate has reached its lowest level since 1900.
However, Fox News claimed that violent crime was already falling to a two-decade low during former President Joe Bidenโs final year in office.
โWell, thereโs a thousand excuses as to why President Trump and his administration didnโt do it,โ he told Fox News host Sean Hannity. โMeanwhile, I lived it. I know what we did and didnโt do for these (expletive).โ
Bongino then cited a New York Times article, which included interviews with several current and former employees who accused Director of the FBI Kash Patel of making America less safe.
โDo you dipwads even read your own headlines?โ Bongino said. โAre you that stupid?
โThese are these media morons โ people whoโve never spent a day wearing a badge. Never kicked in a door. Never arrested some child predator or some bank robber or some gang member. These morons donโt know anything about the safety status of the country," Bongino said.
Bongino said the media is a โbig, full diaper,โ adding that he is โtired of these idiots.โ
โWhat freaking country are these morons living in?โ Bongino asked. โI mean, what are they looking at? Are they missing this stuff? These are not small items. That isnโt even โ forget โ I havenโt even gotten to Maduro being out of power, the Cuban leadershipโs crapping their pants, we may acquire portions of Greenland."
Hannity then commented by saying that the โreal Dan Bongino is back,โ observing he was more restrained when he held a government title.
โWeโve been friends for a long time,โ Hannity said. โI kind of like the real Dan being back, unfiltered.โ
