1st of all we are a seasonal asphalt materials company so when I say off season it is from November to March so our training program, which has to follow all FMCSA rules and regulations just like the paid schools do, we have ample time to teach, there is several of us and we do the one on one approach to instruction which enables us to train a better driver, we have hired some of the graduates from these so called training centers, while some drivers were not bad a huge majority of them lacked the skills to be behind the wheel, most of the trucking companies, ex. Swift, JB Hunt etc, etc give enough training to get them licensed and in a truck, which why we spent 3 years getting certified to be able to train in house so we have a control on the quality of our drivers, when all this shit about these foreign drivers started hitting the news it opened some eyes as to what was going on, I have had numerous close calls out on the road by drivers that clearly are not from here and probably should not be behind the wheel. I have no problem with foreign drivers AS LONG as they can read and speak the language and are PROPERLY licensed I fully support what the DOT is doing to rid the highways of this danger, they are merely enforcing laws already on the books
