The mxz and xcr have always been regular sleds. They are basically the equivalent of a "zr", anyone can buy them and they weren't specifically race sleds. The RR got watered down, but it's right in it's name, REPLICA, so that never bothered me, it was never an actual race sled. The rxc was a race only 600 sled for cross country racing. Not very long ago. It still is in some instances but it's also an 858 with e start and g8 gauge now ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ. I get it, there's a certain crowd that wants to think they're billy badass but they aren't, but they buy machines so the manufacturer gives them what they want.. but I'd just rather have them keep calling these things RR because they just redefined what an rxc is and like someone said, they almost have to rename the true race sled now.. which is something we've done over and over in history because it's a cycle of these wannabros chasing the race sled image.
As for gauges for non racers, the g8 is awesome. Buddy has one. I'd love it. Not sure if I'd love the price tag. But if I didn't get the g8, is be most happy with 2 analog gauges like from the 90's, what was wrong with that? That's all I need and prefer over the cheaper digital gauges. I don't know if it'd even be cheaper at this point compared to the sport gauge but I'd still prefer it. My sport gauge doesn't even give actual coolant temp, just a bar graph with like 4 or 5 bars and it's always 3/4 way to hot which is unnerving but seems to be normal for it.
