Yeah.... staying active in that way is good for sure. ๐
Just too many of my old friends and those I graduated with have gone to shit... physically. I used to go to a gym regularly during my 20's , 30's and 40's but now just prefer to hit my home gym downstairs and lots of free weights seem to do the job for me.
My good friend who used to be fit as could be from us always hiking in the woods, running from the cops and his roofing business etc. must now weigh over 300lbs. He looks like a Sumo wrestler....I just saw him recently and it was a real wake-up call.... He can barely walk or get into his GMC pickup anymore. Absolutely no way he climbs roofs anymore and he has since sold the business. But I vow to never let myself go like that....I waiting to hear he has dropped dead from a heart attack any day.
