I've become pretty bull-headed over the past few years when it comes to pre-paying fertilizer 4-6 months ahead of when it's going to get used. These fertilizer guys take your money and lock you in a price at that present time, but if the price goes down by April/May, you don't get a refund. You only benefit if you need to spend money for tax purposes, or the market puts the price up. So for quite a few years, I saw the price go up a little, or down a little, or stay the same. Was never a big deal either way, so I figured screw 'em, they're not getting my money till I need the material.
Well this year, it's just not going to work out I guess. I had no idea the shit was going to hit the fan like it is. I lose this time.
