As an Albertan, this will never go through.
I think a lot of the support is because it worked for Quebec when they pulled this stunt to get all kinds of handouts and bullshit from the federal government but for us it will result in nothing. We don't have enough ridings to swing an election.
Also, the majority of the people that are extremely vocal who support this are white boomers with enough money to move if it didn't work out or it's a bunch of middle-aged white people that think they're still going to have the same level of socialism they get now.
While I detest the federal government no matter the party and some of the things the separatists say sounds good, it is just theater
