"Local media in Rostov-on-Don have reported the death of Oleg Sokolenko.
Military Commissar Oleg Sokolenko, who headed the military commissariat for the Pervomaysky and Proletarsky districts (sometimes referred to as the Aviation District) of Rostov-on-Don, has been found dead.
His body was found on the ground next to the high-rise building where he lived. The injuries indicate a fall from a great height.
Authorities and local sources (including Russian media outlets such as Bloknot Rostov and Privet-Rostov) report that a resignation letter was found in his apartment. In the letter, he allegedly wrote that the decision was his own and asked that no one be blamed for his death.
His position has since been removed or marked as vacant on the regional military commissariat’s official website.
He was detained in April after being accused and investigated for bribery."
