you're not changing out the leaf springs so you get the same load/towing capacity but at a slightly lowered (not slammed) ride height using the OEM shocks.
there's very few aftermarket kits or manufacturers I'd suggest, especially in the rust belt or that has you changing to their often shitty cheap shocks.
