Anyone doing what he's doing is not a good leader. If people that he previously trusted and valued their opinions are unhappy about things, he should talk with them and hear their position and what their problems are. Instead he's trying to silence them and surround himself with yes men. A yes man that he wants is just a snake in the grass. No values of their own, just using him to advance their own personal career. These self proclaimed loyalists are actually the people you should least trust. But Trump is an idiot and will gravitate to anyone saying nice things to him.
He didn't just say he was anti war, he ran on that and that was the reason many many people voted for him. So then when you start an unprovoked holy war with a large country, these people will be upset. Anyone that isn't is a dishonest person. He's playing 0D chess, about 5 moves behind what's going on. Iran is making him beg other countries, they say no and then he demands help, they say no again. Congratulations you just removed any fear that people now have of the USA and there's a clear playbooks how to beat the USA.
