To be honest I think the chemo pretty much did her in. And the oncologist at the hospital I brought her too last week said the new scans had shown it was spreading to her liver. So we definitely put the kibosh on any more chemo. And according to them the chemo drugs stay in her system for about 2 weeks and the two weeks is up now but I think it's too late. She did take some sips of iced tea on a sponge today and that's the first time she has had any fluids at all in 5 days, normally she keeps her mouth clenched..... But it was not much at all to make any difference I don't think..... just some false hope. And she also sat on the side of the bed while the hospice aid helped to clean her, she had not done that in the previous few days, so she does seem slightly stronger.
I mean if she starts to drink a bit on her own tomorrow And maybe a bite or two of food..... Then maybe she will stick around for a little while longer without the detriment of chemo and have some quality time. But that's probably a pipe dream and wishful thinking. ๐ค
