More info on the GM 5.7 and 6.6. Crankshafts remain an out of house assembly -(Mexico). AFM remains the same system. They’ve incorporated this weird octopus thing that directs coolant, via computer, coming out of the water pump to areas of the motor that need it. It’s filled with valves and servos……and yes…..made from plastic. The interesting part is a new continuously variable oil pump. Why? Because theories about the failing 6.2 was oil volume related and not crankshaft defect might be true?
The little 4 turbo gets an impressive boost of torque and horses. 25 and 40, respectively.
