I drove out to High Rock Bay from copper harbor. All the dispersed sites were filled while Fort Wilkins campground was half empty. I’ve seen this same scenario in every state. The back country fills up while campgrounds remain slow. There’s some exceptions. The high demand state campgrounds in Wisconsin like Devils Lake are still filled. Dreadful places with people packed in like sardines. I’m heading out to the badlands in three weeks. There’s a sites south of Wall with some great free camping. Provided there’s no wildfires, I’ll head over to Oregon and up to BC for 3 weeks.
