17 days from the time they closed the road and bridge, imploded the bridge, moved most of the old bridge out of the way so they could slide the new bridge into the place of the old bridge, slide the new bridge in place and reopened the road and bridge to traffic. They had till Aug 3rd to get the road opened back up or face penalties if it took longer. Since they got the road open well ahead of time they get a 2 million dollar bonus for the bridge part of the job.
"A 17-day full closure occurred on I-376 Parkway East for crews to demolish the former bridge and laterally slide the new 22-million-pound bridge into place. The closure began on July 10, 2026, and the parkway reopened to traffic on July 27, 2026, one full week ahead of schedule."
At the press conference they claim this is the largest bridge project of its kind in the USA and the time frame it took to accomplish all the work to get the bridge and road reopened.
