People at least need cars. Almost nobody needs a snowmobile, big difference and the sled industry was already going downhill trying to get any kind of momentum going. If this goes on for long or has lasting effects this will really hurt snowmobiling. Fuel doesn't just make riding more expensive it hurts the whole economy, people make less money or lose jobs etc and then on top of that an already expensive recreational weekend just got much more expensive. Alot of people will stop going or reduce their investing into it and that starts with not buying the new sled, at minimum. The aging boomerang that selfishly sold out the country are finally starting to age out of snowmobiling and who is left to replace them, everyone they fucked over that can't afford new sleds.
