IMO, if PP would have said that a "strong Canada can Make America Great Again", it would have been slammed down by the media and Liberal supporters as that would show Conservatives support Trump. Trump=bad guy. PP would be considered Maple MAGA.
However, when Carney says the same words, it's acceptable. I am actually surprised that there hasn't been much backlash from the Liberal supporters. It seems "Elbows Up" is only valid when Carney says so.
I believe Carney has (finally) realized that Canada needs the US for our economic future. Canada can't make up all of our lost US customers($$$) with trade deals throughout the rest of the world. I'm glad he has made the pivot.
