Watch a parade that goes past Joans church, the church hands out small bottles of water for free last year I think they handed out around 1200 bottles of water. Before the parade gets started there is a 5K race, some people pre-run the race, then run the race and run it again after the race is over. The parade usually lasts around 1 1/2 to 2 hours, one of the larger parades around here. There's a military low fly over top of the parade route, some years older planes, some times newer planes. A couple years a life flight did a low fly over flying sideways and backwards. A lot of local volunteer fire departments in the parade with their different trucks, man there is a lot of money driving by in the trucks and equipment. The town who puts on the parade sets off fireworks at the high schools football/baseball field starting about 9:40 pm and lasts about 20 minutes, nice display. Hamburgers & hot dogs on the grill, assorted chips, potato salad.
