First step is put line items on pay stubs where taxes go for like the top 5 spending programs from The government and make those mandatory. Already have those for SS and Medicare. Why not have those for interest on debt, MIC and so on and so forth. That way voters and it would bring more tax payers into the rolls of funding these large gov programs.
Think like SS…. Employees pay 12.4% of their income into the program and total collection by the gov .are about $1.3-1.4 trillion a year. Imagine if voters had to pay for the military at a greater expense then their SS cost with nothing much in return unlike SS.
Votes in future elections would go based on campaign promises to cut and we would see meaningful politicians that would put American first.
