Building out these vans might be about being different to some. It gives me an opportunity to bring a comfortable bed, plenty of food, heat or AC, power, water, and lots of cargo to a back country site in the desert, mountains, or by the ocean or lake on public land. They go places a standard RV can’t reach. There’s also the connection with other people at places like expo west. While many enjoy the sterile atmosphere of a KOA, some of us prefer the back country.
