What's for dinner???

Recommended Posts

French Canadian meat pie is in the oven for tonight's dinner. My mother inlaw made it for me after I mentioned that I hadn't had one since my grandmother passed away about 10 years ago.

Mine too. This one doesn't smell the same as my grandmothers, but I'll give it a try as soon as the biscuits are out of the oven. How do you eat yours? I always put some ketchup on it with a dill pickle on the side.

In MN they are called meat pies

Quote

PASTIES: Cornish miners who relocated to the iron mines of Upper Michigan and Minnesota brought the recipe and tradition of pasties with them. The pasty is a meat pie with potatoes and other root vegetables, sealed and baked in a light pastry crust.
