Just a guess but its possible platinum contributing members can change their user name and red, blue & gold contributing members can not change their name. Its possible when the platinum member user group was set up the forum permissions were set up to allow platinum members to change their user name.... Just a guess, I can't change my user name and I don't see anywhere in my settings to change it. Me thinks platinum members forum permissions are set wrong the only ones who should be able to change your user name is a Mod/Admin or Admin.
