We trailered to Eganville from my place in Griffith, ice damage down my way is bad and most trails south are closed and not passable. My buddy, he's the groomer, told us to head north, so we did.....Anyway we rode from Eganville, Pembroke, all the way to Rolphton for lunch and back. 185 miles total! The XCR works great, still in break in mode. Cold day -24C high of -15C. Need new gloves...1 point

Sorry, but this has not gotten old yet. Truly a classic FS memory that will be around for a while, and for that, thank you 02sled You really either need to find a new place to ride or slow down with the drugs. Where is it you ride that you are checked that often & with line ups?!?! I don't like it either, but enforcement on the trails is a must, especially with what seems to be a decreased club presence on the trails....and of course with the continual decrease in common sense that people have or use these days...1 point

Dude, sorry to hear it. I've lost four of my pups and making that decision is still one of the hardest things I've ever done. And I cried like a girl each time because it doesn't get easier. There is no doubt the water works will continue after each one I lose. Those are my kids!1 point

Whether or not Trump is pulling the strings, industry is running scared of being labeled as the new face of outsourcing like Carrier was. Somehow his rhetoric is working. However you feel about Trump, it is pretty hard to deny that. Gotta give him credit for fear shaming a lot of potential jobs and revenue into the economy. The economy was on the up under Obama, but Trump is throwing his twitter palpacy to good use in these cases.1 point

Fuck that! As President he represents the entire country on the national stage. Requiring him to act respectful of others is not asking too much. There is no question he mocked that disabled reporter and made himself (and by extension us) look like idiots.1 point

Wrong, you made the stupid comment that everybody outside of Wisconsin hates the Packers ( you probably believe it's a fact) and I proved your dumbass wrong.1 point

I have passed countless OPP checks over the years and virtually all of them have been slow down and then continue. We did get stopped once for over the speed limit but not outrageous. He checked our ownership insurance and license then said having everything else in order earned just a caution on the speed. His partner was dealing with a couple of others that weren't so lucky. Being way over the limit, they flew past us, giving the cops attitude and not having all the other documents was resulting in multiple tickets1 point

True, but they rarely do it. Cops do not want to bother pulling cars over if they suspect nothing is wrong. yet on sleds they do it all the time. You are pretty much guaranteed to be pulled over on a sled if you are riding on a trail and the cops are coming at you in the other direction, on go the lights every time. Imagine if they behaved that way on the roads.1 point

From the Mazinaw Powerline Club, they are just south of my place: Our day clearing trails...the good, the bad and the ugly. I'll start with the ugly just so I can end with the good. The ugly...the three guys on the newer skidoos with good fxr clothing, good helmets and yes, even a GoPro on your helmet. All that money spent for snowmobiling yet only one of you could afford $180 dollars for a permit. "It's in the truck, it was too cold for it to stick to the machine today. Ya right buddy. You also spent the money to travel here from Toronto to ride our trails. Next time stay home, don't want or need you here. I could go on for a long time about all the reasons you are scum. Also the ugly. The spot on the trail where the sign clearly indicates no ski doos in this direction yet several people had to travel off the perfectly good trail in order to go where they were asked not to. Clubs ask all the time that landowners be respected so trails can stay open but, some just can't manage simple respect. The bad. Trails definitely fit in this category. Some are passable but, the number of times you will get slapped in the head by hanging, ice laden branches is incredible. Several people spent all day yesterday and didn't begin to clear up the mess. Sledders don't typically wish for mild weather but, if Mother Nature doesn't help us get the ice off the trees our trails are going to suffer all winter. Also the bad. The number of sleds that came upon us working and sat on their running sleds till we stopped what we were doing and moved out of their way. Couldn't take the time out of your day (on closed trails by the way-closed so we could safely work on them) to lend a hand, say thank you. Nope , keep riding buddy. The good - Bruce - who met up with us, asked us what we were doing, told us about some downed trees he ran into and proceeded to spend the next several hours ( the whole time he had available for sledding today) sweating his ass off helping to clear the trails. We love the Bruce's.Bob P - who emailed us last night to say he and his wife had time to clear trails today and where could they park. If you see Bob and his wife today stop, say hello and thanks. They may be the reason you can get fromPoint A to point B. Most snowmobiles get it. We know this but, it's the ones who don't that burn the club volunteers out. That was a rant. Pictures to follow1 point

First ride today. Rough ass trails the whole way. Less than fun for the first ride but gotta start getting conditioned. There's enough to groom....let's hope that happens. Damn I'm sore as shit! 'Bout to drop about 30 wings in the fryer though...add a few cold ones while I watch some good puck should grease up the ol' joints nicely!1 point
