Harriet Tubman "retired" to Auburn NY were she eventually died and she is buried here as well. Its my hometown. Also, NYS definitely held slaves. During the Revolution the Brits freed slaves after they took control of NY during the revolution. Also I think of the northern states we were the last one to abandon the practice.
