looking for Caribbean inspired dishes for my wife's surprise 1/2 birthday on Tuesday when we're going to tell her that my daughter and I booked a surprise vacation in the Bahamas' in December for her actual 49th birthday.

here's a few things I've considered flipping around the internet cookbooks... feel free to make suggestions.

will likely be using the Breeo grille to cook or finish.

Going with the beef kabobs for tomorrow night.

Do you know how to quickly ripen plantains?  I did not... but just turned on the oven.

Just place your unpeeled plantains in the oven and let them bake at 300 degrees fahrenheit or around 150°C for about 30 minutes to an hour.

They’ll turn shiny and black, and they’ll definitely be hot to touch. Put them in the refrigerator or wait till they cool and you'll have soft and sweet plantains and bananas.

Why did the oven ripen them? This is because the heat actually stimulated the ripening process.

Was wondering what made me want jerk.  Forgot this Convo but was pissed when the store had no scotch bonnets today.

Made Oklahoma onion burgers instead on some fresh buns barely out of the oven as I got the hankering late in the day.

The kids have been begging me to pick up Chinese from our favorite take-out place, so I stopped after work and made them happy.  I'm sure we'll be back to both of them butting heads with me before the night is over!  How soon they forget when dad caves in and gets them something they want.

Ramen is a soup, not a stir fry.  Glad it was good, but if they call it that it is really funny.

So take it up with Hello Fresh.
