So mix wind drift, heavy traffic and limited grooming. Only good trail we rode was just south of Mount Forest. They had groomed last night and they had gotten way more snow. I was not at my best after 5 days of plowing, shoveling and running the blower. One trail section we rode had not seen a groomer since before the wind, Drifts were 2-4 feet high in places. It was his first time on a trail and he was able to keep a pretty good pace. Was a beautiful day. Trails were icy and bare in some spots but still had an awesome time. Other than the big dump we just got, this was the worst season around here in 5 years. Maybe next year a real winter will make a comeback. In normal snow I can keep the motor at 180-220, but in deep fresh snow it’s a struggle to maintain 100f, and that’s when fuel blows by into the case. Of course I could get an ecu mapped for snow, but they’re $1000 us, for the amount of times I ride snow like that, it’s cheaper to change out the oil. I’m doing it every 2 rides anyways. This is is one of the reasons bikes aren’t as popular as they could be. Every 2 rides sounds reasonable. Are you using synthetic or regular dino oil? I assume Dino due to price and frequency of your oil changes? Easy starting, never had a problem with clutch etc. Online, lsome guys swear by rotella t6, but I personally know a guy that ran t6 and it destroyed his clutch. I’ve got a 250sx that I hardly ride, I’m thinking of grabbing a used kit and building a backup/buddy bike.
