  1. Yup, where I grew up there were pretty limited opportunities outside of ag. The only ones making money there were the ones who actually ran the operation. Thankfully, I'm in the position now where I can do more work remotely. Between traveling and work from home I don't spend that much time in my office at headquarters. I own zero crypto. Crypto bros were just crying because they all went broke. Now that BTC is back up they are saying how great it is and everyone should get into it.
  2. My advice to millennials and gen z is to save more, spend less, and don't ever invest with Blackrock. Fidelity low cost broad market index funds is where I keep most of my money.
  3. When I was in Destin in January you couldn't go anywhere without tripping over a for sale sign. Lots of stuff for sale, people just don't like the price. Housing prices along with insurance costs have gone way up in Florida. That's if you can even get insurance.
  4. The 2024 election is estimated to cost more than $10 billion.
  5. 3 year old 9R "safe bet" Keep Indy Dan on speed dial.
  6. Regardless of mileage. That 9R could have 50 miles on it and outside of warranty I wouldn't want anything to do with it.
  7. Would anyone here want to own a 9R XCR outside of warranty?
  8. Yup, old Bentley. My old boss has one. The thing is worth like $300k and he drives it in the rain and down gravel roads.
  9. $3.44 in town here. Be $4 a gallon this summer I'm sure and $5 for the good stuff.
  10. TDS, that sounds scary. I'm calling for 15 days to slow the spread. Oh, and make sure you get tested early, and often. We're all in this together!
  11. My parents took us out for an anniversary dinner yesterday. Place had a 3%+ automatic service charge that was not a tip for the staff. I'm not a big fan of the government stepping in but I think they need to put some rules in place to make pricing more clear to the customer. New York seems to have done something right. Usually I carry a few hundred in cash for restaurants as many are charging 3% plus for cards or don't take them at all. Think you will see more places trail side that don't take cards at all. Then the servers get their tips in cash too.
  12. Here was our snow depth on this day last year.
  13. Cutting taxes is always the correct answer. There is no amount of federal tax revenue the government brings in that it won't be able to squander away. Less taxes need to be paid to the federal government. It's more efficient to collect it at the local level and use it for local projects.
  14. Right now I have the exact opposite problem. Sit on the computer all day working and don't get enough time to get up and do things. One the weekends I'm outside working all day, wish I could do that every day. They just recently changed our vacation policy so I'm up to 5 weeks which really helps.
  15. Looks like a few folks are there this morning scratching their heads on what they are going to do.
  16. Looks like another short track this weekend. In the 60s the next couple days and then rain on Thursday but I'm sure they will make the best of it. I think those hills are facing north so probably leaving the snow there for as long as they can.
  17. At least the plastic interior was there to break their fall instead of the aluminum fuselage.
  18. It's a smooth ride if the instruments don't go blank and then bounce the passengers off the roof. That plane needs to be grounded before it kills even more people. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/pa/article-13186517/People-bounced-roof-plane-plunged-flight-New-Zealand.html
  19. Highlighted for the ones in back. If you don't believe polls, take a look at the betting averages.
  20. They didn't make new XCs this year because there are too many carryovers sitting on dealer lots. Both are idiotic. Nope, it's not. Rates at dealers are upwards of 10% right now. Even the local credit union is 7.5-8% depending on loan term and that's for prime borrowers. There are some really good deals out there right now, if you can stroke a check for it. Get a few dealers in a price war against each other on the same or similar models. The time spent comparison shopping and a couple hundred miles will be worthwhile.
  21. They pull the same thing here. Think that was the first time I was even in the school was to vote against the school referendum. Eventually they did get it passed to build some new schools. Almost 50% of my property taxes already goes to the school but they came back for more this year. Thankfully it got voted down but just barely.
