I would give it my best hope that there are a lot more people wandering around with antibodies. It is so complicated looking at some of the numbers to figure out real comparisons between flu and covid. There isn't a solid historical set of numbers for the flu. They can be revised up to two years after the fact. Heck, the flu numbers for the last two years could still be adjusted upward. They are at best, estimated numbers without specific tracking. Covid is tracked, but some of that isn't real clear either. I am not sure how they do the positive rate numbers for covid. (That gets thrown around a lot) Do they count people with multiple tests as one sample? I have friends that get tested every week. They do the PCR tests. None have had antibody tests. I'm sure that is fairly common. Their jobs are considered high risk and the nose thingy is part of the gig. I've asked why none were given the antibody tests. Crickets. I have not seen concrete published antibody numbers. Trends in numbers are a decent indicator when there is consistent testing. The graph shape is worth watching. There are plenty of numbers. It is difficult to determine which numbers are not manipulated. I'm a big fan of the gas pump forecast. The concept comes from conversations with Gene - old timer with gas station next to the motel. We would ask if the forecast of another foot of fresh snow could be correct? His response was usually pretty consistent. "We'll see what's on the gas pump in the morning" Gene had the best damn forecast.
