Woodchucks

Besides the trusty rifle that I can't use in an urban setting, what works to get rid of them?

I have a couple live traps, and some leg traps that haven't netted the bastages yet.... Haven't seen any in over 8 years, and suddenly this year we have FAMILIES of them.  Yes, local development has pushed them into my 10 acres damnit!

Can you use a bow? or maybe a BB gun? My bud has a full auto AK BB gun for fuckin off but I bet that thing could take out some small animals.

My dad once used a baseball bat.

We had a BB gun growing up, they would bounce off their pelts and just piss them off.  Sometimes a .22 doesn't even do the job without being a head shot....

Funny guy!  I'm not getting close enough to wack them with ANYTHING!  LOL

Air rifle? They have some pretty powerful ones now

Could also use subsonic .22 rounds, probly not legal in town but alot quieter and won't attract much attention

Block off the escape holes and put propane and oxygen in hole that is also covered in dirt, use steel wool and 12 volt battery as triggering device 25 feet or more away from holes when you set it off.

That’s surprising that ak c02 one my bud has is fairly powerful with the pointed tip bb’s maybe?

Carbon monoxide? Otherwise air rifle if you have a shot at them.

I've shot some nice integrally suppressed .22 air rifles in my yard that would put them down without a sound  :thumb:

I was going subsonic 22lr suppressed until I tried these

Peanut butter and Cucumbers were the bait - Lead will be his dessert!

I had woodchucks under a shed a few years ago, I fed them cantaloupe for a few days , just to train them, then I just dropped a couple of chucks by there hole and waited with the 22, they loved that cantaloupe.

I either shoot ‘em with a scoped 22 or trap em and then shoot ‘em with a 22 pistol. They get really careful so I have to use the trap.

last summer the female had 6 pups. The fuckers eat everything from the veg garden to the wife’s annual flowers.

This.   Smoke bombs and traps (not the catch and release kind) work well too.

sheridan bluestreak air rifle. deadly accurate , 1 head shot and done. whatever you don't injure it so it's flopping around in the street. that may cause you some issues

I was thinking car exhaust or something. Run a hose from the tail pipe into the hole. Pretty humane they just go to sleep

I watched a video of a guy doing it. Propane is heavy so it goes down in the hole and the oxygen makes it go boom.
