Restaurants in deep-blue cities starved for diners while Florida is feasting

Recommended Posts

Minneapolis is on its way to being the Midwest version of.San Francisco.

The number of daily diners in the city of Minneapolis was down an average of 54.3% in July — so the city had less than half the number of people eating out, compared with July 2019, according to OpenTable.

It’s the worst recovery of any city in the world tracked by the restaurant reservation service.

When we were in town for the Kenny Chesney concert, we stopped at the Target by Ridgedale and were in the minority not wearing masks.

We ate at a trendy Mexican joint and were the only two not wearing masks.

We were the pariah of the place and didn't feel welcome at all.

We watched several diners take their masks off just long enough to shove a quick bite in their pie hole, they mask back up ASAP and chew.

I'll stick with a sketch White Castle after that go around.

We were at the Knoxville Nationals last weekend.  25,000 people who are not the picture of ideal health.  Saw 2 masks.  One on a guy missing a leg and was a couple hundo overweight and a person who I'm assuming is a cancer patient.

Interesting. Out by me the restaurants are packed like hell and masks are really rare.  Not as rare in the grocery store but at restaurants there are basically zero.

Same here . Restaurants always busy around here. Most need more help,  they still haven't seemed to have recovered staff wise. Masks are non existent.

We have a lot of great independent local restaurants. None of which I want to see go out of business.

The chains like Chillis or Ruby Tuesday are really only the shitty ones. Could care less about Corporate shit never eat there.

People who wear masks should be shamed and ridiculed and laughed at publicly. Chicken shit faggot ass retards who need to move to Canada

Right, because you know everyone's individual health concerns. If someone wants to wear a mask it's up to them. We see very few around here, but I'm not going to ridicule them for their choice. The only place that we wear ours are at doctor's appointments but they are required.

FWIW Ive actually never ridiculed anybody in public for wearing a mask. I may have chuckled to myself in certain situations I admit.

However I was ridiculed, harassed and screamed at more times than I can count by random strangers for not wearing one.
