The government skewing the economy isn't either. The imbalance created by 40 years of reliance on debt has to be balanced out or capitalism is done for.

Capitalism will never be done for because some people will just always want to be a more than just average. People will always be motivated to innovate, improve and excel if it will improve their lives. If people have nothing to works towards they just wont.

So is it wrong to only base the tip on the food and drink cost? I tip on the bill less tax. I'm not a cheap tipper at all but why should I pay an additional 20% on 9% tax? Anyone else subtract the tax?

I never base the tip on the cost of the food bill.  I tip based on how good the service is.

I know that it may seem like I am cheap but I'm not. If the back of the house fucks up the meal I don't hold it against the server unless she/he has no regard for the quality of the meal that they just brought to me. I spend a fair amount of money on dining out and will not give a "reward" to someone just because. Still have to earn it.

I've asked to speak to the manager so I can make sure the server gets the tip and the kitchen doesn't. I figure management needs to hear that the service from the wait staff was great but the food wasn't. Many times the waitress gets the extra from the discount the manager gives me. LOL

So if you go to a Mexican joint and the bill is $20 or you go to a steakhouse and the bill is $180, you tip the same for the same service/attention/professionalism?

Gosh, I wonder how humanity made any progress before capitalism came along...

His statement made no sense. You have to base a tip off of something bill wise. Not going to give a $20 tip for a $20 tab just because the service was great even tho I've done that in a titty bar a few times.

Lol.

It's a pretty shit view of humanity to think that we're only motivated by fear.

Fear is a pretty good motivator.  Really, it’s kinda #1.  Self preservation is #1 motivating fear in the animal kingdom.  Of course it can be much more than just self preservation.  Failure is another good one.

Exactly.  I probably generally overtip.  Went to a barbecue place tonight and tipped $20 on like a $42 bill, just the wife and I.  She worked as a waitress for years and always drilled into me how hard they have it.

Or were enslaved after loosing a battle or war.

Number of reasons back then and that's why we should never negotiate ANY of our constitutional rights. Freedom should be universal, anyone who disagrees is looking to control you.

It didn't come very far.   You are blind to not see this.

I can be argued that civilization barely moved at all without capitalism.  One can just look at the many countries that started to really flourish under it then, was squashed by a socialist dictator leading to millions of deaths from starvation, disease and of course, the mass murdering of all those that opposed starvation and disease.

 It's just about damn perfectly spot on. Only thing missing is the proof she is on a social media site reporting the posts of somebody that disagrees with her as "hate speech".
