Edit* what makes these models different than a consumer cat 600, engine wise? 15/20/23 RXC's could be bought through a dealer. 48+ 18's made it out the dealers as carryovers. I'm fairly certain the ones you listed were raced. I don't remember ever being able to buy a sno-x sled through a dealer like a snow check, but every now and then they'll slip out. The RXC's are production based sleds and run the same long block. There will be a different exhaust and mapping. Not exactly sure on the sno-x sled. They are pre-mix, but I think they were the ones at one time that had some tiny oil tank. that needed to be filled to oil the center crank bearing. Edit, they still have this, 18 and newer for sure. I know a few people that had them, didn't know about that, and roasted the crank. Edited April 16, 2023 by racinfarmer

stinkipinki
You could do the same for every brand, the ratio of rebuilt Poo and Doo 600s far outnumbers the CTEC. A quick search on marketplace reveals the same result if your looking to cherry pick. That lame reach of a reply, is hardly worth replying to, but just to be clear, it didnt say anything, or counter any points made.

As a percentage you will find way more cats rebuilt when looking at the years only since the ctec....which of course is what we are comparing. I see a lot more Cat RXC's for sale then I do the Polaris and Doo XC sleds. If you remove the raced sleds, I wonder how the numbers would stack up in the 600's. I don't see too many modern 600's being listed as rebuilt when they are sold. The slotted piston design is practical, but can have it's challenges. Was super skeptical of them, but the only one I've had a catastrophic failure with was my 15 XF with 7500 miles that dumped the lower con rod bearing. I had it pinned WFO across a lake I knew had soft spots, hit a soft spot and bogged it way down. Didn't run right after that. For all the abuse, that has been the only major issue. Still have that XF and another 15 XF with almost 11k on it and no rebuilds. And others. my beef in this case isn't with the engine design or it's capabilities... it's 110% lack of quality control issue and standing behind it. I've also recently heard of an older 6000 with over 20k miles on it. 12 hours ago, ZR6000RR said: Well the world may never know. we know... unless you are calling other members here liars? 12 hours ago, Boonbocker1 said: I searched marketplace quick...I think i looked at maybe 10 cat 6000 series sleds...found these 4 in a matter of a minute, maybe 2 RF already addressed this as several of those are race sleds or possibly sleds that were raced... but the RXC engine is the same as any old production 6000 has. The mapping, pipe and muffler don't make that big of a difference. Also realize Cat is confident enough of the package that they have offered the Procross RXC to consumers multiple times. If it had a vulnerable high strung engine package they wouldn't do that. I've got no problem calling them out and throwing them under the bus for the problem we've experienced. I've installed them in CT2 800s but don't have an official answer as to what is different with the "C" version. I ASSuME that the petal thickness, or geometry is different for the smaller 600. I also wonder why they are buying them, instead of using their own version.. I've never had the best luck getting long life from v-force reeds on my personal stuff. I've never had the best luck getting long life from v-force reeds on my personal stuff. idk man... https://store.mototassinari.com/vforce3.html The unique design of the VForce reed valve system features double the reed tip surface over a conventional reed valve design. This has two major benefits: 1) The reed petals only travel half the distance as a conventional reed valve design to get the same airflow. 2) Because the reed petals only need to travel half the distance of that on a conventional reed valve design, there is a greater chance of them being fully opened as well as a better chance of sealing when they are "closed". A reed petal never truly "closes" in a classic sense, as it is always in movement. Consider this, an engine operating at 8,000 RPM results in a reed petal opening and closing 133 times in one second. This fact, sheds light on another VForce advantage. Since the petals are only traveling half the distance, they generally last longer are they receive less wear than the reed petals on a conventional reed valve design. speedwerx shows 6000/8000 as the same https://speedwerx.com/moto-tassinari-vforce-3r-reed-valves-600-6000-800-8000-c-tec-2.html wait, they let janitors install reeds?
