P-47 - in case you are bored, this is the turbo supercharger system in the P-47. Many aircraft engines used mechanically driven superchargers, often connected directly to the crankshaft, with multiple compressor stages and two-speed transmissions. Conversely, some designs incorporated turbo-superchargers, powered by exhaust gas pressure. Turbo-superchargers, having numerous advantages, didn't require direct coupling to the engine. For instance, the turbocharger in the Republic P-47 fighter was a full thirty feet behind the engine, tucked away aft of the pilot in the rear fuselage.

I believe it is.  I was chasing after grandkids so I didn’t get to spend time looking.
They know not to put their hands on peoples cars, but with the candy and decorations …..I was worried.

My buddy has a really Dart . Little kid crawled right up in the engine compartment.  Always risky taking your car where non car people are going to be at.  Seen it all. Women throwing their kids up on hood to take photos, putting them inside the car, setting their food or drink down on the car. 🙄

Sounds stressful. I've only ever had 20 footers for that very reason.

Yes.  Book book about worth the read.  We were at EAA when they had some of the parts that they recovered on display.
