Last week we weighed one of the big guys. I've worked in the business for a long time and the numbers still amaze me. B777 weighs approximately 380,000lbs empty. No fuel, cargo or passengers.

What is a pro chain for an Echo CS-490 ?

How long is the bar? Does it run .325 pitch .050 gauge or 3/8 pitch .050?

I see its available both ways, that info should be stamped onto the bar

It,s a 20 inch bar, right now, I,m using the H78 Oregon chain, which is 3/8ths.

Are there better chains to use that that, and if so, how much are they ?

Well by what your telling me the Oregon H78 is .325.. pull the chain up out of the bar, there is probably a 20 stamped on the drive links, or let me know what # is stamped on the drive links..If it's a 20 the chain is Oregons 20BPX78 safety chain..You would have to go to a lawn and garden shop that sells Oregon and get 20LPX78 that would be the pro chain, but you won't find it at a Lowe's or home Depot since they sell to home owners. I would guess it's about $18 retail a loop.

When it's time to replace the bar, you can get a 3/8's .050 bar, and replace the sprocket to a 3/8's sprocket, then you can run Oregon's 72LGX72 full chisel pro chain.
