I do have to admit I'm surprised the truck had enough stopping power. It takes a pretty good jerk to break them loose from dry bunks sometimes. I do watch when I see boats bobbing along on the trailer with the front strap loose. That is pretty much a disaster waiting for the next unintended event. Entertainment is just waiting to happen. I agree, but look at the angle on the trailer without any weight on it. I can almost guarantee that the rear of the truck was sagging pretty good with that boat back there. Put that and likely still wet bunks in the mix, and you get the end result without any straps holding it down. Live and learn the hard way. Why would you be cutting trees anyways, getting some sawdust and woodchips for your super food salads?

Figured cutting 3 or 4 cord of firewood a year, maintaining my 28 acres, doing snowmobile trails, etc might as well spring for a decent saw.

2strokemerc
Last week we weighed one of the big guys. I've worked in the business for a long time and the numbers still amaze me. B777 weighs approximately 380,000lbs empty. No fuel, cargo or passengers. Edited July 26, 2018 by 2strokemerc 3
