What kind of machine are you doing that on? Cast steel?

Those blocks and heads are machined on horizontal mills. A pallet pool feeds 4 mills in a row. That’s only the roughing ops.

blocks and heads on most of these motors are cast aluminum now.

The 850 uses gasket sealer on the cylinder base gasket?

Highly doubtful.  That looks like shitty marching. Cheap cutting tools

Thought it looked like a horizontal fixture setup . Cool stuff with the pallet changers ...

Ah that's alum huh - thought it would be for weight, but thought raw casting looked like steel in pic.

Never had that problem with them.   Had to majorly change the first 1/3 of throttle jetting.   Sled wouldn't run without the changes.

Well I talked to lonn Peterson himself about it and he said you have to "ease" off the throttle to avoid the fuel dumping. They don't add horsepower I took those things off and never had a problem again.

Ghetto ass gasket

Should be metal with a copper layer of sealant

Well I havent personally had an 850 apart but Polaris has not used gasket sealer on the base gasket in at least 30 years prior to now.

A typical poo base gasket is metal with a copper or silicone seal impregnated into the gasket.

Yah....I was lost in here. There is a fairly decent standard of using proper gaskets on newer motors
