So he is "solving" a problem his own company created?

If the battery gets damaged ,it’s totaled. The paint process is environmentally friendly, but very few body shops will invest in the equipment. Depending on where you live, your wrecked Tesla has to be shipped out of state to get repaired.

insurance companies with far more experience charge a lot because they are expensive to repair,  that cost doesn't change when tesla writes the policy so seems to me it's another money losing business just like Tesla itself when the claims are more inline with the premiums being charged by the others.

The mark up on parts will no doubt disappear under Tesla Insurance Company

Tesla’s just crumple under a minor backing accident...  these guys have a good series on Tesla repairs from backing it into a garage door. Damaging the trunk lid, rear quarter and bumper cover.  Cost over 10k to repair and over 3 months.  I didn’t realize that Tesla has only 3 body shops across the nation....

I used to think they looked good.  The model 3 looks like a Croc with wheels.

yup and the S has not gotten cheap enough given it's the same vehicle still from 2012 and does not have the quick charging of the 3.   S is a good looking ride

Good thing about wrecking a Tesla is you typically get it back from the independent/approved body shops with better fit and finish then when coming out of the factory.

That was another thing Jeff said.
