They put a filter and one of those ultraviolet lights in the water line And it was $1,500 bucks. They wanted extra 3% if I paid by a credit card, So I ended up paying cash. But it is a tip hungry world that's for sure.... The food places that I regularly pick up from, I will still leave them about a 20% tip just for handing me the bag. Some of the places that I only pick up occasionally I'll just throw a couple extra bucks in as a tip but not 20%. Gave them even more during the pandemic, It seemed more justified then. The first time I ever saw it put on the customer to cover it was at the golf course, and since then I see it everywhere. Nah. Instead they got zero lol. If there was a 10% option I probably would have hit it, but didn’t feel like going through the extra steps, cause they didn’t either. Any decent service gets at least 20% from me. And if I get to know the individual and they have been my waiter / waitress a few times. I will usually tip them even more... They work on these tips And I know I will be assured good service from them..... They remember the good tippers... It’s part of the cost of doing business and has been since the dawn of credit cards. Those rules have recently changed. We charge %3 for credit cards now. Customers understand. I had a rewards card with a very large limit that I think hosed merchants for %4-5. I've refused to pay the 3% when they add it on after. Lost track of how many times. Most recently was at the Can Am dealer in Parker AZ. Walked out went to the next dealer up the way in Havasu. I didn't know the rules had changed, I just noticed a lot more places charging for credit card use. It was always in place at auctions I attended. I don't accept credit cards at all in my business. We prefer cheques or etransfer. The bank charges us now if we deposit cash. I always tip. Even bad service I will leave something. I don't know what is going on in someone's personal life, maybe the waiter/waitress is having a bad day. Great service and I will tip better than 20%. We went to dinner in Florida recently, just the wife and I at a steak place. Bill was $350. The waiter brings the machine and minimum tip was preset to 20% with 25 and 30 as options. I was a bit offended by that. Then I was at Wendy's for lunch the other day. My employee and I don't like this particular one because the staff just never gets anything right. The lady at the cash this day was probably mid to late 30's. She was smiling good banter, she was moving her ass. The orders were correct and came quick. It was a good experience and I said to my employee "I wish I had the option to tip her. Not the rest of the staff, just her." I guess I should have tossed her a $20 over the counter but not sure how that would go over. It was nice to deal with someone who spoke English and had a positive attitude. I don't see that often.
