Large threads tend to slow the site down so I locked the old thread and started this new one.

I think Chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy are on the menu for tonight.

It sounds like a medical problem.  Sounds like your family has many.  A sickly bunch?

I can dig on that for sure.

I'm still trying to make a dent but, it seems fruitless.  Full as hell though.  Lookout butthole!

I threw a pork butt on the smoker last night at midnight, to have it ready for the Packers vs. Vikings football game today.  Checked on it a couple times throughout the first few hours & everything was going great.  I woke up at 4:30 to check again, and noticed my kitchen appliances were blinking (indicating a power hit).  Sure shitting - walk outside and see my smoker OFF :wall:  I'm not sure how long the power was off - the butt itself was still plenty warm and had some good color/smoke to it.  So, I threw it in a pan and doctored it up, sealed it with foil, and threw it in the oven at 250F to try and finish it off.  I hope it turns out alright - it won't be as good as it should be, with really good bark ... but I hope it still ends up where the wife and kids & daughter's boyfriend like it.

(Sorry for the mini novel)

Crap.  That sucks.  Forced the Texas crutch which will soften the bark, but the meat should stay moist.  If it doesn't get past stall in time for you I'd add some braising liquid in the foil and turn the heat up to 300F.  Check it a couple hours before you want it so you have time to let her finish that way.

Yup - already on top of that   I added some apple juice earlier & set the oven to 275
