I actually like it better with venison and ground pork.  Hopefully I'll draw an elk tag next year and be able to tag one.  I love elk meat.

What are you using for a marinade? We usually use steakhouse marinade when doing it ourselves. My favorite is the maple bourbon tips we get a the local meat market. Fucking things are awesome!

I have some beef tenderloin that I need to cut up in to steaks for dinner tonight.

Yes. There's a bunch in the northern lower peninsula.  My brother has 20 acres in Atlanta. Prime elk country :bc:  Just hard to get a tag. It's on a lottery system

The article I posted said 30,000-40,000 apply and they give out anywhere from 100-400 tags.

Yep.  It all depends on how many tags are filled the previous year.  Luck of the draw.   Some people never get a chance to hunt elk. Any LOTS who draw tags never shoot one , and some never even see any in the field

I just threw some Dale’s, a splash of liquid smoke and some brown suger in the bag.

It was red it believe....it was different then im accustomed to having... wasn't fishy at all.

Local place here used to do a red based seafood chowder that was great as was their traditional clam chowder....good stuff.

i'm in maint mode, if i can stay within 10 lbs of 230 i am happy.  234 Saturday am.  I prob should take a 2 week window and buckle down and get to 220 now that i know how much i can cheat and balance with my exercise.

I am as well...im still trying to stay below 3000 calories a day though.... :bc:
