Gold Member 800renegaderider Posted January 30, 2021 Gold Member Share Posted January 30, 2021 70 day and night. When it starts to get cold in the fall we set it at 70 and don’t touch it till spring. Not sure on cost as it’s a new house and this is our first winter in it. I’m guessing $1500-2000

Angry ginger
cold this weekend so i overrode everything to 68-70 last night vs letting it comes down to 60-62. took too long to warm back up yesterday. Winds down today so I'll change them back tonight.

jdsky
Constant 70 degrees all year round. With geothermal you just leave the temp constant as the recovery is too long and ends up consuming more energy. Six years in and with $1.00 propane the payback is yet to materialize with this system but the biden fuck everyone energy plan should drive the cost of gas/oil through the roof by summer so I guess that will accelerate.

Sael
Fuel oil and propane, 70°+ during the day, auto setback to 66° at night, costs me about $1500 including hot water and worth it. I’m getting old and feeble and refuse to be cold at home.
