Zambroski
My butcher (and anyone’s around here that knows meat), rents a space in the back of gas pumps on the way out to the country. Make no bones about it though, EVERYONE in this area knows “Stokke’s”.
Anler
Mine is a Pollack named Rob. Good dude and he sells good stuff. We buy everything there.
Platinum Contributing Member Highmark Posted April 24, 2019 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted April 24, 2019 Use a couple of local lockers but we have a few grocery stores that have outstanding meat departments and can do to order just about anything. Believe it or not, the Sam’s club here does a good job. Meat is fresh due to quick circulation and if you go during “butcher hours”, he’ll carve you off a slab of anything you want.

We have 2 in our neighborhood, both locally owned and operated and run a good operation. 1 has been around forever and the other started about 13 years ago. For the quality and service they provide it's a good value and I like supporting local business. Good people too.

Most can't do better than the grocery stores that actually do a decent job.

But as far as meats go none of the local big stores around here come close to these 2 shops. Go in either of them on a Saturday or Sunday and it is wall to wall. Best place to get really good Salmon around me.

With that I take it to a butcher who I know gives me back my animal to eat, you can't imagine the now many assholes gut shoot and or open up the innards while field dressing a deer. Field dressing and butchering are both arts, I bow down with all respect to the good butchers.
smokin george
We used to go to a local butcher when we lived in the city. The place is a local landmark that's been in the area for years. I go to Costco now for all the meat we buy now and definately have been happy

Ken Ballard had been doing it for 40 years, but he got old and closed the shop. I have to drive about 35 miles round trip to get the meat, but I do it every week because it's that damn good. Guy makes a Teriyaki jerky that is to die for. Ships it all over the country. People come just for that.

Got a few pepper sticks that made a pretty good lunch and snack on the way home.
