spin_dry
What the fuck is up with vet costs. Vaccination, wellness check, stool sample, heart worm, Lyme blood work. $230. Then a $65 prescription for a foot rash. It cost less for my check up and blood work. Tomorrow I take dog #2 in. Fuck.

Platinum Contributing Member Skidooski Posted August 13, 2019 Platinum Contributing Member Share Posted August 13, 2019 This was the visit before his $750 surgery visit.
Wildboer
I was on the phone with my dad this morning. Told me he took the dog in Saturday and then again today because he's been refusing to eat and he was barely moving. Close to $900 for the vet to tell him the dog is perfectly healthy. JEFF
One reason when our last dog passed I said no more. All of our local vets charge like that. Every visit was turning into a $400-700 visit. They know you'll pay it.
01mxz800
had to get a ultrasound for my cocker spaniel at the wonderful low price of $
Anler
Funny they are building a bunch of veterinary hospitals by me. Some people will spend anything on their pets.
spin_dry
I’m thinking about a cattle syringe and vaccines from Fleet Farm. Do it in the upstairs bathroom. Lol
Gold Member Stephen Hawking Posted August 13, 2019 Gold Member Share Posted August 13, 2019 My sister actually carries pet health insurance. Yikes My mom found a local vet that is very reasonable, but it seems like alot of them are joining together and keeping prices artificially high. Edmo
I’m on my third vet in 7 years. They’re all expensive.

The ex used to pay attention to this stuff, I just paid The cat got a collar off Amazon a week later Edited August 13, 2019 by Skidooski
f7ben
I'd put my best little buddy in the dirt for $450. Fuck that shit
irv
Shop around. 2 vets by me are miles apart when it comes to costs. One, the most expensive one can't contain themselves when they tried to tell us everything our cat needed. Fools likely bought in but I looked at the vet or vet helper like she was on crack and simply walked out the door.

Zambroski
My first pup visit a week or so ago was around $150. Second in a couple weeks should run about $200 with heartworm tests and meds. That’ll do it for him. They get their initials and boosters and from then on, just heartworm. I lost a dog to a bad lepto vaccine about 10 years ago and started doing research on these annual shots and boosters...total crap.

smokin george
People overvaxinate their dogs by listening to a vet. Puppy shots and rabies are basically all you need
