Nice job on the restoration! As I recall it was amazing those sleds moved forward because the track lugs were maybe a 1/4" LOL

I grew up on Yamaha. The last sled we owned that was American was my dads Merc 440 (me on it).   My favorite sled where I really learned how to ride when I had enough meat on me to really start swinging it around was a Yamaha Enticer.  The first sled I bought myself was a 1985 Phazer.  My dad told be when I got a job he'd co-sign for me.  The day I turned 15 I got a work permit and a job bagging groceries...the next day we were loading my new sled up.  My dad asked, "Wouldn't you rather start saving for a car?"  NOPE!!!! :ylsuper:

17" wide track and 22hp. Very rarely if ever did it spin the track. Floated pretty good but I did get stuck a couple times. Not good when you're 13 years old.NOS Viking track.jpg

Cool.  Did you turn yours into a jets ski in the woods too?  Break away shocks.  Very innovative.

I promptly "modded" it.

Pipe, ripped the air box off , uni filters.

Blew it up on the lake after one season.

Lol.

Young and dumb.

Is there a snowmobile speed limit in your state or province? Is it enforced?
NH has a state wide speed limit of 45 mph. Fish and Game gives you 10 mph and wont ticket you unless you are going 56 mph or above. Here in VT the only speed limit is on state and federal land where the speed limit is 35 mph.

The snowmobile trails around here in the NEK of VT officially open December 16th provided there is enough snow for them to open. I have ridden before Xmas 2 out of the 3 seasons I've lived here. However, the good riding doesn't usually begin until after New Years.

I used to average around 3,000 miles a season when I lived in NH. Since moving to Vermont is been closer to a thousand.
